¡Vamos a la playa! 01/06/2014

¡Hola mi familia! I hope all is well. We had.... a rough week this week. But. Thats life, and life goes on. We survived! haha.

Well ill start with the bad news first.... The bad news is that we now have 0 people to teach here in our sector. We had 5 people that were pretty seguro about baptism (La familia Sid Vargas, and another lady) anddd..... well now everyone here is on summer vacation. And the family, and the mom of luis (the joven that got baptized when i first showed up to this sector) ALL "fueron al campo"..... ughhhh. So here in Chile everybody either has campo, or knows someone that has campo.... And campo is just like... land in the middle of who knows where where they go and visit and camp and plant things and... I honestly dont even know what. But everyone ALWAYS talks about the campo. and like every weekend theyre all "going to the campo". Well so since its summer vacation, instead of just going to the campo for the weekend... the family Sid Vargas and Luis` mom and family all went to the campo, and theyre going to be there until the beginning of March.... :(((( bah. So we just lost all of our possibilities. And now were left at 0. And have to start from scratch. Booo. We were pretty sad/upset/frustrated when we received the news. It was a bummer. But. Like i said. Asì es la vida. Ups and downs. But so just pray for us so we can be finding some good people that we can teach please!!!

So that was fome. But anways. Happy new year to all! I hope you had a great new years and que lo pasaran bien! We didnt have any changes to our schedule or anything. So we didnt do any dinners with anyone or anything like that. HOWEVER. We did pass by some members that day to visit thema nd share something. And they were all super super nice and by the end of the night we were sent home with 3 little dinners to eat for New Years since we werent allowed to just be with the members. haha teyre so nice here. but so anyway we were in the house at 10 and in bed by 1130. However, we were definitely not asleep at 1130... Even though we werent celebrating the new year... the neighbors definitely were! So we were just hanging out in our beds at 1130, because we wouldnt have been able to sleep with all the music and noise and everything. And plus at 12 they always do fireworks here. So we just kept talking until 12, then watched the fireworks at 12, and then after the fireworks really put in the effort to fall asleep. But it still wasnt very successful. Our neighbors are quite the partiers. Even when its not a holiday they always have people coming over and have bbqs at night and stuff... theyre crazy haha. But so finallyyyy after awhile i was able to get to sleep.

And the other cool thing/big highlight from the week is that we had a zone activity today! We went to the beach again! haha. this time we went to a different beach. Its called Ramuntcho! Its a tiny little beach that has pretty white sand and pretty clear water. It was a lot of fun! It was a little weird because this time when we went (as i mention before, its summer vacation) there were people there.... haha. But not very many. Just a couple. But so it was fun. Elder Holt and I brought our ukuleles, and someone else brought a football. Like an american football football. So it was fun, we took some pictures, played the ukulele, and we played a game of 2 hand touch football! The hermanas didnt even want to play so we didnt have any problems or situtations with that... it made it a little easier that theywere content with not playing haha. Not to be mean and exclude them, but to avoid the whole "dont touch the hermanas!" thing haha.
It was also cool because we have an elder in our zone who was a legit gymnast before his mission... so hes good at doing flips and stuff. Well i can still do my backflip, so we took a couple cool pictures doing backflips in the sand at the beach haha. I didnt get them on my camera, theyre on his, so im going to have him send it to me! Hopefully i can get them today!

Well so that was really fun. And those are basically some big highlights from the week. More than that, were just trying to find some new people to teach... we could use your prayers and such... Its gonna be rough! haha.

Well. I dont have too much more. But i love you and msis you all! The church is true, the gospel is restored, and the priesthood too! I love it all. Its the greatest thing ever. It just brings blessings upon blessing upon blessing. There aint anything better!! I hope you all have a great week and a happy new year!! Ill send some pictures now for you all to enjoy. Hasta la proxima! Chau!

Elder Heyman

1. Here was the food we received for new years eve! You can see that rice and meat is a very popular food here..... haha. I couldnt even tell you what it all is. I just eat it no mas.

2. Me with the new years steal.

3. This is a recent convert in the ward. Her birthday is January 1st! So we stopped by to say and sing happy birthday to her. She turned 73!! Here is a picture of her with this plate thing. The picture of the woman on the plate is her when she was 24!! hahaha. We had to take a foto! Her name is Matilde.

4. We dont know what this is. We just found it randomly and it was super gross. It was kind of squishy and we had sneaking suspicions it could have for real been a heart of something hahaha.

5. some of the beach and the zone.

1. Somehow this was seriously the best picture Elder Holt and I got together on my camera.... Oh well. Here you are haha.

2. Here`s our zone pic. We have an awesome zone! haha.

3. Heres me and Elder Stewart doing our backflips! (Note the dog in the water. Its not Chile if theres not dogs!)

4. Sweet pana picture of the beach we went to stolen from the camera of another elder! haha.
