December 3, 2012

Welllllll IIIIIIII had a ridiculously crazy week this week. Everybody saddle up and get comfy because I have alot of stories and this will probably be a longer letter.... Here we go!

Well... Remember how I said my new comp Elder Cowden wasnt too great at riding a bike?... I was serious. This week he got NAILED by a car... haha.

Sooooo.... In our sector where we work, the road we travel on is just this longggg highway, with turn offs every once in a while onto dirt roads to what are called "poblaciones" or in english, it basically neighborhoods... haha. So anyway. We were riding back to Longaví from "La Tercera" and we were on the side of the highway. One side of the highway had a sidewalk and extra room for bikers, and the other just BARELY had any shoulder to ride on, with a canal on the other side. So it was super sketch whenever a car would drive by. It would be super close and we´d have the canal on the other side we were like almost falling in haha. So, we were on the small side of the road, so I looked back really quick, saw that I was good, and crossed both lanes (2 way freeway) to the other safe side. Since Elder Cowden isnt super fantastic on a bike, he usually just follows what I do with a little bit of hesitation (as in theres a few seconds between before he goes too). So I crossed, and then when I was good, looked back over to see what Elder Cowden was doing/going to do to make sure he was okay...
Well I didnt SEE anything, but I heard a car coming... And I saw that Elder Cowden kind of just went for it and didnt look behind him too much first... So I could hear that the car was close, and coming fast, so I started yelling at him "¡¡¡Cuidado cuidado cuidado!!! THATS when he finally looked back, and saw the car coming, so he tried as fast as he could to swerve back to the side of the road towards the canal... but didnt quite make it all the way. So the car hit the brakes but still just nailed him. Elder Cowden was SUPER blessed, because he DID get out of the way enough the the car didnt hit HIM, only the back of the bike. But still, the car wrecked the back tire and the bike just flew out from Elder Cowden and he hit the ground hard...
So I dropped my bike asap and just ran across the road to go grab him wondering what damage was done... so i picked him up off the ground and was like "are you okay?!"  and he said "yeah yeah im fine!" So we checked him, and his right side was pretty scratched up from the fall and hitting the ground so hard (he DID have a helmet!) he cut his hand bad and had blood, his shoulder was scratched up and his knee was scratched up and bloody too... haha. But then the stupid car that hit him kind of started to drive off, and had like 20 seconds of confusion driving forward, then backwards trying to decide whether to run or check on us... So they finally DID come back to check on him, but we just said "yeah yeah hes fine! Dont worry, just go. Well be okay." and they were making us mad because they had these teenage girls in the back that were just saying "sorry! sorry!" in TERRIBLE english the whole time, and then when they left they were like "bye bye! bye bye!" with smiles on their faces the whole time. I was like "you just hit my companion with your car this isnt funny!" except in my head.... ha. but so we just told them to get away from us haha. (ps they were all on their way to church... hm.)
So anyway. The car drove off and a bunch of people came outside their houses to see what happened and one lady knew the missionaries and let us in to wash off Cowden a little bit. But so after that I carried Cowden´s bike for forever down the freeway (cuz he just got hit by a car haha wasnt letting him do that) and we were trying to call someone with a truck or find a way back to Longaví. But Cowden the whole time was just telling me "we have to go visit Oscar and graciela! Im fine lets go!" and I laughed and said "Elder Cowden stop. Youre just running on adrenaline right now. We´ll at least past by their house to make you happy but were getting back to longaví asap" hahaha. So we past by our cita but they werent home, and LONG story short somebody we knew saw us and had a son with a car so we packed the bikes in the car and he drove us home. hahaha.
So we got back to longaví, got ourselves tranquilo and check Elder Cowden  out and then had decide what to do/who to call. And Elder Cowden refused to call Pres Humphrey so i said "Okay fine were calling the branch president then." so we called him because we didnt know what to do haha. And he had the first counselor in the branch presidency come over and escorted us to the doctors office to get Elder Cowden checked out, and then to the police station just in case there were any legal things we had to deal with (there were none... haha) Once we finally got back to the house Elder cowden reported "yeah you were definitely right. I was running on pure adrenaline. I hurt really really bad now." hahaha. BUT. So were counting our blessings and are extremely happy hes doing alright, the bike is fixed, and hes in functioning mode. We just had a good scare and now hes much more careful on the bike :) It was quite the day haha... I will send pictures.

Okay second story. This is a funny one. So on Sunday we had District Conference in Linares!! So we had to travel to Linares by bus Sunday morning... So Elder Cowden and I got on the bus, and Sunday locomoción is reallyyyy slow. Theres barely any buses that pass by and nobody even really travels. So its only us two on the bus, waiting for it to leave...... when we had a friend join us. Named Roberto. Who was EXTREEEEEEEMELY drunk and wasted and smelt SO bad and it was just pathetic but VERY funny... but so he decided to start up a conversation with us. And refused to talk in spanish. He only would talk in his 10 words of english he knew, and kept getting mad cuz he wanted us to talk in english to him too... and he kept talking about "old music" that was on his phone that he had... and would start EVERY sentence with "I am..." no matter what he wanted to say. For example, he told us probably about 12 times "I am... like da old music." or "i am... you son de the states?" he would also mix spanish and english alot too. And he also introduced himself and shook our hands and told us he was "roberto, robert in english" about 15 times too. So anyway he sat next to us the whole time on the bus and it was just funny but annoying and yeah idk haha. BUT. Were missionaries. Soooo this is what happened. I said something to him (we talked to him in spanish the whole time) about how we were missionaries and he could really use some help. He then asked if we had "one of those books" for him to read. We didnt, but i gave him a pass along card and said "hey but were actually going to linares right now to go to church! You should come it would really help you!" and I was just being a missionary, and didnt think he would accept... but he accepted. And we just laughed cuz we didnt think he was serious. BUT... the time for us to get off came and Elder Cowden said " alright were going to church now! you can come if you want!" And he said "yeah yeah! im coming!" anddddd so he got off the bus with us... and came to the church with us... haha....

and you have to remember this whole time he was just telling us about his old music, and how he wanted to believe in something, that he was robert, and he really wanted to and needed to recharge his cellphone. hahaha

Soooo... we escorted Roberto to church... and he came into church with us... but we showed up early so we had to set up the extra chairs in the back... and we set up a special chair for Roberto in the veeeeery back right next to the door.... Because we didnt know if he was actually going to stay... or what to do haha... But, so since it was district conference, President Humphrey was going to be there! So right when we got a sight of Pres Humphrey, we ran up to him and said "president humphrey we accidently brought this extremely drunk guy to church with us and we dont know what to do with him." hahahaha. So President Humphrey met him, had a quick talk with him, asked him if he could behave himself, and roberto responded with "yes!" so president said "alright... well he can stay I guess." hahaha. So he was like our little pet because we couldnt leave him alone anywhere... hahah so we took him everywhere with us and the members were giving us really weird sketchy looks like "who is this guy???" hahaha.... butttt long story short too, right before church started, he really wanted to charge his cellphone, and couldnt comprehend/remember we told him that we didnt have a computer for him to do that... So we decided we couldnt let him stay. He was too big of a hassle and he wouldnt have remembered the meeting anyways and it was just too risky... so we escorted him out and wrote down his number then told him to go find somewhere where he could charge his cellphone hahaha. I will also send pictures of him haha. It was quite the event as well. hahaha. Just doing our job! Inviting everyone unto Christ!! :) Some are just more prepared for our message than others... hahaha.

Okay also this week we FINALLY got rid of the pulgas/fleas!!! At last! I was DYING. but one of the members came to our house on wednesday and sprayed our house with this liquid stuff... and we werent aloud to enter the house at all during the day because the stuff was super toxic and we had to let the house vent out hahah. So we had temporary headquarters in the church building during the day for our studies haha. BUT the stuff worked! Its been like 4 or 5 days now since ive had any more pulgas... so i am EXTREMELY happy and relieved. and can sleep alot better :)

ALSO awesome news! I finally finished my scripture memorizing thing! "Los Estandardes de Conocimiento!" I memorized them all! So I am SUPER excited and happy because that was a huge feat for me. Im just waiting until tomorrow when I can OFFICIALLY pass it off with my district or zone leader and OFFICIALLY be a "misionero de oro!" ;) hahaha. Its seriously been a huge blessing though. Ive learned so much from it and its reaaaaally helped my teaching improve ALOT. So i am extremely happy! We´ll have to see what challenge comes next! haha

andddd last two things! So thing number one! WEeeeeee had a baptism this week!!! Boris finally got baptized!!!! and it was awesome! The baptism turned out really really well and boris was extremely happy and his family was happy too and everything! Were really excited to start working with him and help him be ready to receive the priesthood now too! Hes an awesome guy. And I was able to baptize him! I dont remember if I had mentioned that before haha. So it was aweseom! :)

Anddddd last thing is an Anny and Enrique update. This is why this email subject was "round 2?" Becauseeee were working really hard with anny and enrique. they want to be baptized really bad... but the marriage thing is the only thing in the way. And so were working really hard with them... and its definitely not even close to official yet... but Elder Cowden and I really think they will end up getting married... we think they will! Thats why its round 2 :) But, if not, we set a goal with them for baptism on the 22 of december, and also set a goal that by the 21 of december, they will either be married OR living seperately so that they can be baptized. We explained to them how that is THEIR decision, but that more than anything right now it is extremely important they get baptized, or they wont be able to enter into the kingdom of god (3 Nefi 27:19! One of those scriptures i memorized :) ) So we told them that they have 3 options, baptism together and married, baptism seperated and living in different locations, or staying in there current situation living together but seperated, and without baptism (lameeee). So we told them that its THEIR decision how they want to go about it, but that were there to help, and that we strongly strongly strongly encourage the marriage route, and that were going to continue teaching them and helping them realize WHY they should get married and the blessings that will come from that! But that one way or another they do need to be baptized because thats the commandment haha. And they wont receive eternal life without it! Being a missionary is so cool :) I would never do this if I werent a missionary hahaha.

But so thats my update this week!!! Pretty crazy huh? I loooooooove being a missionary. I am extremely excited to be working with anny and enrique right now, because I knowwww theyre going to see the blessings of this gospel in their lives, and theyre going to be ready by the 21st to be married so that they can enter into the waters of baptism on the 22nd! Together! IIIII have the faith. I know its going to happen. Were going to work hard so it DOES happen! haha. I love being a missionary!!!

But anyway. I love you all alot. I miss you all alot. Iiiiim working hard to make you all proud! I looooove being a missionary! its been such a blessing in my life and I hope its been blessing your lives as well! I imagine it has been... but I cant speak for you all haha. This church is 1000% true and I love it with all my heart. The blessings that come from living the gospel of Jesus Christ are amazing and make it impossible to deny that God is our Heavenly Father and Jesus is the Christ!!! I know the church is true!!! I love you all and miss you. CTR. Be good. Have an awesome december!! Love you!

Wassupppp?! Nov. 19, 2012

Hola peeps! How goes it? I had a good week this week! But I failed to write down any good points so... Hopefully I have something good to share today haha.

My new companion is here! His name is Elder Cowden and he's from Salt Lake City, Utah! He's hilariousss and we get along great! Seriously hes really funny. Hes so goofy. But we work really well together and im actually really excited about this cambio and think were going to have alot of success. So I guess ill tell you about him first off haha.

So the first thing is he LOVESSSS baptism. Just everything about it. haha. And eeeevery person he talks to he just like straight asks them if theyre baptized, and if they say no he says "why not? What impedes you from being baptized?" hahaha. Hes funny. He speaks really good grammatical spanish but has a not so great accent... POR EJEMPLO: our first day together we found this new person to teach, and at the end asked if we could give a prayer, and who the lady wanted to give the prayer. She responded by pointing at me and saying "Him. He understands more." hahaha. We both looked at eachother and laughed and then Elder Cowden explained how he understands everything but just has a bad accent hahaha. Its funny. I felt awkward and bad hahaha. And something like that has happened more than once haha. The other funny thing is this is his first sector in his mission where he's riding a bike, and its been about 6 or 7 years since hes ridden a bike... and weve already had multiple accidents with him falling and other things hahaha. So im basically retraining him to ride a bike! haha. Not really, but I give him tips a menudo on how to ride better and smoother hahaha. Its really funny. But no really hes awesome and really funny and fun. Hes really focused, driven, and motivated to do well and get work done and such and its awesome. My mission president told me how he has alot of "animo" and that if we can get that going, we'll have alot of success! and I feel like we really will! We already had an awesome first week together and it will just improve from there! and Im excited because we communicate well together too. Were good about talking things out and figuring out how we can improve and such. So im really excited cuz i think he'll be an awesome comp and we'll work really well together!

It has also been brought to my attention this week that the Chilenos are starting to find me on Facebook. Haha. I had two people here tell me they found me on facebook and asked if they can add me as a friend. I was shocked, laughed, and said "well yeah I guess so! My sister has control of my facebook though." haha. So jen, when names like Libeny and Felipe and not american names show up... Now you know. Im being found. haha.

Also new news! I will be teaching a music class here! woo hooo! Ill teach it on saturdays haha. Its been an idea of mine for awhile now, but now its actually gonna happen! And so all Im going to do for now, is basically going to be like directing a choir of sorts haha. Because iiiiii have no idea how to teach music, so theres noooo idea of how to do it in spanish. SO. what im going to do is take the songs that we will be singing in church for that week, and I will be teaching whoever shows up those songs, and we'll sing them and such and ill accompany them on the piano so that the following day in sacrament meetings can be even better! and then people will know the songs and feel comfortable singing and.... Hopefully sound a little better. Its pretty rough on the ears on sundays hahaha. Or maybe its just hard as the piano player because sometimes it seems like Im playing one song, but theyre singing a different song hahaha. But so we'll see how that goes!!!

More announcements: We have a baptism coming up on the first of December... A guy named Boris. And hes AWESOME. haha. Anyways, he has a super strong desire to be baptized in a river by his house because he lovessss nature... and we are going to try very hard to get permission to do that. Because that would be sweeeeeet. Baptizing in a river! haha. Itd make cool fotos at least :P haha but no were really excited for boris because he is un investigador de oro! The other week after church he came up to us and asked "can i bring my book of mormon and bible and a notepad and paper to church? is that okay? Because Id really like to take notes on this stuff!" and then whenever we ask him if hes going to church next sunday he replies "oooobviously!" hahaha. Hes awesome. A really good kid and his going to be awesome after his baptism too!!!
Another possibility for december is a woman named anny! Who came to church this sunday a little late... because we were disappointed she didnt seem to be showing up... but then she called us and told us she was in the plaza eating a dulce with her little son, and that she had come to church, but couldnt come in! So i thought "oh shoot was the front door locked or something?.... dang it..." SO i asked why she couldnt come in and she just said she was nervous and embarrassed hahaha. So elder cowden and I went to the plaza and accompanied her to the biulding haha, and she loved the meeting! so thats super good too.

I guess its thanksgiving this week or something... That doesnt exist here so i dont have to be thankful for anything. haha jk! I am SUPER thankful for all of you and your support! But especially thankful for my family. Myyyy family is the bomb. I have the best coolest family of them all haha. I love you all and miss you! Thank you all for everything and I hope you have a great thanksgiving!

Uhmmm... Oh! Libeny is awesome!!! So first off she volunteered to serve us missionaries lunch one day... and she DEFINITELY made it onto the "I serve the missionaries FANTASTIC meals" list. (That list contains about 4 people fyi hahah.) We had some bistek? (honestly no idea how to spell that...) and rice and papas fritas and eggs.... haha. Trust me. It was really good. Anyways so that. But ALSO shes already a dang misionera. We went to visit her cousin with her one day this week, and libeny did awesome! Without any practice too! haha. The thoughts she shared and experiences and how she explained things haha. She was awesome! And if her cousin joins the church that would be awesome. It would make things alot easier on Libeny and she would have some family support and everythihng.... Her cousin seems pretty good! So were hoping it all goes well.

Which reminds me. Iiiii love being a missionary. And especially this past week Ive loved teaching people. Because its aweome to see the spirit working with people. Its just an awesome feeling when things just go right and its obvious that the spirit is there working with people. and when it works through me too! For example(s), with Libenys cousin, at the end of the lesson with her, she said something about how "yeah id really wants you to come back because you really sparked my curiousity now!" and Iiiii know that that was the spirit working with her and opening her mind and heart to listen to us and learn more! Another time we were teaching someone new, and usually we have to ask the questions FOR them so they start thinking (for example: Have you ever asked yourself WHY theres so many churches nowadays??) but when we were teaching these people, out of nowhere this woman asked US the exact question we were hoping for (the previously stated question), and it was just a witness that we were doing our job and teaching by the spirit so that these people understand and want to learn more. and the final example is when we were teaching Anny, I bore my testimony about something. and afterwards she said "tan bonita lo que dices" (which basically translates to: What you say is so beautiful) and she was definitely NOT talking about my spanish or how I said it hahaha. It made me really happy to hear her say that because it was a witness to me that she was feeling the spirit and we were working/teaching in the right way... BASICALLY. I dont know if any of that made sense to you, but basically being a missionary is awesome. I love it. Especially when Im doing it right, and the Lord gives me witnesses to let me know Im doing it right!

Uhmmmm Im still working really hard with my memorizing the scriptures thing... and Im VERY confident I will finish my goal and be a "misionero de oro" at the end of this cambio! Which would be aaaawesomeeee. Ill keep you updated! haha.

But shoot besides that I cant think of anything else great or grand that went on this past week haha. The weather is still unpredictable... its been cold for forever but today its hottt. haha. and my spanish is going really well! I can speak really well and understand like 90% of everything now haha. Im getting there!! By christmas I should maybe hopefully idk be good? Proooobably not.... haha. Allì vemos. PEROOOO...

Chau!

A Week of Exciting News!! Nov. 12, 2012

I HAD MY FIRST BAPTISM!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! hahaha

So like I said last week... this weeks email time might have to be short cuz there were cambios... and it turns out Elder Sutterfield is leaving! Hes leaving to be a zone leader in Penco!! So thats really exciting for him. Hes freaking out and really stressed and nervous because he'll be a zone leader.... haha. And Im nervous to have a new companion. But so my time will be short because he has a lot to do!

So first off, my new companion will be an Elder Cowden... Who is also from Utah. All my companions have been from Utah thus far. haha. So anyway. Elder Sutterfield was companions with him before and says hes quite the character. That he has alot of quirks but that hes really funny hahaha. So Im excited! But nervous...I dont know why but im just kind of really nervous about it haha. But so since Im still new I will of course be the junior comp, but ill have to step up the next week while Elder Cowden accustoms himself to the area! Here we go!!! haha

But so here's the news from the week!

Tuesday: Just a quick funny story. We met this one really old guy that could barely hear anything. But so we taught him a quick lesson, and when we were done he was telling us about some other beautiful girl that he lived with (we were thinking it was his daughter) So we thought "oh okay someone young that can hear and is probably more acceptable to our message". hahaha. So we asked to go meet her and say hi. So he took us to his backyard cuz he said she was planting. Turns out it was his wife... who LOOKED like she was probably 102. But she was sitting in a chair planting some plant... I think she was planting onions. Anyway sitting on this chair in this small garden planting onions. And so we laughed to ourselves like "well this isnt what we thought it was..." but so we talked to her for just a second and was telling us about how she had a dream in which the lord revealed to her a promised land in which she would have and could plant things, and that the land we were standing on at that moment was the land she dreamed about, so even though she was sick she HAD to keep working because it was her promised land... It was really weird... hahaha. So we got out of there asap! But its just really funny the people and things you run into... hahaha.

the only other notable day was... SATURDAY!!!!! Libeny and Michael were baptized!!!!! Woo hooooo!!! So I baptized Libeny, and Elder Sutterfield baptized Michael! And it was awesome! haha. I could go on forever about everything that went on... but since Im short on time, heres the unorganized super duper fast version!

Libeny is really anti-social/doesnt like people haha. Shes really nice but just doesnt like to make the first move to get to know people. It has to be the other way around. So anyway shes told us the whole time she didnt want anyone at her baptism! But people were invited anyways. Ward members and such. So when she showed up and saw that there was going to be a bunch of people, she got really mad and stressed out... and there was drama haha. Long story short, we ended up asking almost everyone to leave so she would be lessed stressed and could just enjoy her baptism and have a spiritual experience. So it was only me, Elder Sutt, the two other elders, Libeny, Michael, the branch president and first counselor, and 1 member she knew and was comfortable with, and 1 other member that happened to come dressed nice in suit and tie (the rest were in street clothes) and since he was dressed nice she let him stay hahaha. So there were 10 in total! haha. But so point is, she felt better and enjoyed the baptism and afterwards kept telling us how she was really feeling something and felt like a big weight was lifted off her shoulders and she felt peaceful and such... and we were like "yeah... thats what a baptism does." haha just kidding. But no we just told her "Thats really good! Thats how your SUPPOSED to feel! See? this church is true!" haha. Algo así. But so Libeny was REALLY nervous for her baptism haha. And Michael was pumped. I baptized Libeny first, and did it right the first time :P So i was happy about that. But she was freaking out and was grabbing my arm SO tight hahaha. And afterwards she told me that "Usted es tan flacito! No pensaba que pudiera levantarme del agua!" That might be bad spanish... haha. BUT. basically afterwards she told me that since im so skinny she was afraid I wasnt going to be able to lift her back up out of the water hahaha. But then after Michael was baptized... he's so funny. He was basically dancing around in the water and splashing and cheering and laughing and stuff hahahaha. You had to be there.... but yeah! So we had a successful baptism! AND they even showed up for church the next day to be confirmed and receive el don del espiritu santo :D haha. So yeah! First baptism in the books for me! Im really excited. And I was nervous beforehand too. But it was awesome. It felt so good to help someone to be able to do that!

But so yeahhhh... I dont really have much time. So thats all I shall share from this week! Gotta go get the stuff done for Elder Sutterfield!! haha. But I had a good week! And we'll see how things go this week with a new companion! Crazyyyyy. Thanks for all the love and support everybody! Im working hard to make everyone proud! The church is true and the book is blue. haha. Havent heard that in a long time. I love the mission! Love and miss you all!

Make Sure this Letter Gets Read by Mary Ashley haha Nov. 5, 2012

Hola hola! ¿Como estan?? So today is a super busy day and we have a huge week ahead of us and stuff (last week of the cambio!) so i dont have a lot of time and am just going to get right into it!

Monday: So there was one thing I wanted to note from Monday cuz it was a "this only happened because Im in Chile" thing! So long story short, when Elder Sutterfield and I were riding back to Longavì from Los cristales, we were on this sidewalk type thing that has room for two people only! Basically its a small space. So anyway, I was looking down while we were riding for one reason or another, and was riding kind of right next to Elder Sutterfield, and when I looked up, I was coming fast at this drunk guy walking towards us, and was going to crash into him... haha. So i was like "Oh shoot! Disculpe! (exuse me)" and swerved out of the way BARELY in time to not hit the guy. But this guy was DRUNK. Could barely walk. And as I rode by he yelled "Hola Joven!!!" at me, and just PUNCHED me. hahahah. He seriously punched me so hard. He punched me in the shoulder/bicep area which made me swerve on my bike and like almost lose control hahaha. It hurt!!! He hit me hard! hahahaha. Anyway. That happened. And i was just laughing the whole way home cuz it was so random and that would NEVER happen ever in my life if I was doing anything else with my life. hahaha.

Tuesday: Nothing super grand I can think of... haha

Wednesday: So HERES why the subject of this email is how it is: Wednesday we had a mini-cambio and I was in Linares again working with Elder Abbott (from Utah) at one point we were doing contacts, and he must of had some random revelation cuz he suddenly turned down this random street and went alllll the way to the last house on the street and got in to share with them haha. The only one we visited hahah. Anyway, so we got into the house to share a super quick message with one man while he was feeding his newborn son milk before they had to leave somewhere (excuse the runon sentence) But so by the time we were done and ready to leave, his wife and his mom had also come into the room to listen. So when we were done his mom asked "Where are you two from?" and Elder Abbott said "The united states!" and she automatically assumed "oh Utah??" haha. so i laughed and said "well HE is from utah, but im from arizona!" and then the mom said "Arizona? Really! My son was just there!" and then he said "yeah i went to tuscon!" so I was shocked. Because there are few people that get to leave the country here. and weird he would go to TUSCON (sp?) of all places. So i said "No way? Really? Why did you go there??" so he then proceeded to tell us how he LOVES american football and one reason or other had a chance to go to az to watch an arizona cardinals game there and how he likes to watch the cardinals! So I was just dying at this point. and so i said "ha thats crazyyy! But so you like the cardinals huh? Well would you recognize the head coach`s name then? Coach Whisenhunt?" and he said "yeah! Coach Wee-soon-hoont" (pronounced in spanish hahah), and then I told him how the Whisenhunts live right across the street from us, and I am good friends with his daughter! hahahaha. What a small world huh? I just couldnt believe it. I was dying. But the guys eyes just got really big and he said wowww. really?! No way!! Thats so cool! hahahhaa. So Mary Ashley, just letting you guys know you have fans here in Chile too! hahaha. I was just dying after that visit though. Couldnt believe that. Must've happened for a reason, right? :D

Thursday: So we had planned for this weekend two baptisms... Libeny and her son Michael. And they had there interviews earlier and the week and were ready to go! So we were excited. But Thursday we went to her house to visit them, but SUPER long story short, during our visit we found out that same night after her interview she went to her families house and was drinking tea and stuff.... and so basically we discovered she WASNT ready for baptism... haha. Didnt quite understand the covenant she was going to be making :( So we were really frustrated after that visit. But we have planned for THIS week their baptisms and are very confident it will go down! haha.

Friday: Nothing of greatness...

Saturday:Saturday was just a REALLY frustrating day. We had like 0 success and i was getting frustrated and blah blah blah. I dont know why but by the end of this week I was just running low on patience haha... :/ oops. anyway, it was just a frustrating day, but I survived. I guess I'm just ready to really start progressing in the work now that I have the language PRETTY good.... Still a LONG way to go, but Im lightyears from where I started haha. I can understand most things now, and still can communicate pretty well. So im close!... but still so far from knowing the language haha. I should definitely be good within the next 2 or 3 months though!

Sunday: So Sunday was fast Sunday. and I wrote down just something funny I observed in my agenda. So were in a small branch. Most people are new converts here, so dont really have all the experience yet in the church haha... So anyway. Fast Sunday. So in between sunday school classes and such, they told everyone they have 5 minutes to go use the bathroom or whatever and then come back for the next class... So after that 5 minute break announcment, nearly the whole building LEFT the church, went down to one of the corner stores, and bought some snacks because they were hungry since they hadnt eaten from breakfast, and then came back for class. I just started laughing when I looked back 10 minutes after the announcement and saw the rama coming back in with their grocery bags and snacks... haha. With time, we shall teach them..... hahaha.

Monday!!: And lastly, we had a zone activity today that was super fun. We went to some resort next to the Andes because one of the members in the other sector (linares) works there and he gave us a tour and we did some hiking kind of stuff haha. I have pictures. I shall show them.

Okay! Well thats all. I dont have much time, so Im gonna go now. Im loving the work and having a lot of fun. Next week might be a super short email week because we have cambios and Elder Sutt might get changed, and if he does then we'll spend the whole day for him to say bye to people haha. FYI. BUT! I love you all and miss you so much! Im working hard to make you all proud! Im learning lots and picking up the language well and everything. Its starting to get hot! Summer is coming! Weird haha. But alllllright. I gotta go now. Love you all and miss you! The church is true! I hope you all realize that.

I am Blessed with THE BEST Family and Friends in this World!!

I seriously have the best family and friends ever. I could totally see how pdays could be super distracting for some missionaries with getting emails and everything from friends and family, but I get on here and read my emails from friends and family and just get pumped and more motivated to go be a dang awesome missionary! hahaha. Seriously. I love you all so much and look up to all of your examples and am so thankful for the emails I get from you and the support and love and everything!

My family is bomb. Theyre so cool. I have an awesome family. haha. Wow. I love you all and miss you all! Youre such awesome examples to me in everything you do and everything everybody is doing especially now in this time! Its amazing. Youre all awesome. Iiiiii love my family. I miss you all. And especially my nieces and nephews too. Tell them all I say hi and i love them and miss them. And teach them to say unkie! haha.

Im also sooo blessed to have so many friends out on missions right now as well. Living their lives the right way, and in this time dedicating THEIR time to the Lord and helping others and learning so much too. Because IIIII am having an awesome bomb amazing time on my mission, and I know how my friends are, I know THEY are having an awesome time as well and learning and mejorandose? I cant remember the best way to say that in english anymore haha. Improving? progressing? Bettering themselves? haha something like that. anyway. theyre improving in life and learning so much too. Its going to be awesome when we all get back together after the mission. Ahhhh itll be so awesome. But yeah. So shout out to macgyver, lythgoe, stoker, max lax ash, harrison, brady, joey... the whole bunch. AND now Morgan and Mary and apparently all of you girls now going on missions! hahaha. Youre all awesome. Do work out there!

OKAY. Now that I got that out of my system. Here's what my week was like really quick. Another not superdy duperdy exciting week. BUT! Here we go.

Monday: ...Nothing super exciting I can think of. haha.

Tuesday: Was a really awesome day of work! Basically we found 8 new people to teach that day. 8 nuevos! thats alot p.s. haha. So yeah. That was cool. We were happy about that.

Wednesday: In the morning we did a service project again a la casa del Presidente Carcamo! I took pictures this time! I will send them. We did ALOT of work that day. And I woke up thursday REALLY sore hahaha. We worked a ton with cement again, and shoveling a ton of rocks and dirt and what not. It was fun! Still learning alot about construction haha. Its tough work. And they really dont have good resources here, so the methods that they do somethings are just AMAZING. Im like "Wow. I never would have though of that. We just have a big giant machine that does that for us in the US. Or a tool that does that." hahah. Its pretty amazing what they do out here. They live roughhh lives :/ YOURE ALL BLESSED! Be grateful. haha. Im learning alot out here ;)

Thursday: Cant think of anything grand that happened...

Friday, Friday, gotta get down on friday... Sidenote. It smells terribly of fish and fish food right now in this computer place and i might go throw up. This is disgusting.

FRIDAY: So this story is more kind of for me for when i go back and read these after the mission haha. So it might not make complete sense or be that great sorry. So thursday morning we had a surprise visit from our zone leaders at our house during our study hours. They basically just came to do some verification stuff and see how were all doing and working with some goals we set as a zone. But so when they left they were telling us how our zone needs to use the members better and work better with the members. So they left us with a goal of 8 lessons with members between thursday and sunday. Which is SO HARD for us. like the last three weeks weve had at most 5 lessons with members during the week. We have very few members here in Longavì, and very few willing or ready to work with us... haha But so I just thought, okay if its coming from the zone leaders, its possible, lets do it. Its dang hard, but lets do it. So anyway. My experience from friday is that in the morning i had kind of planned out how we could reach this goal by the end of the week. which included visiting a member that day to check up on some things with her, and then having her introduce us to her neighbor whose son we had talked to the other day. So we went to visit her, and it just so happened that the member (Yissela) was over in the yard of the lady we wanted her to introduce us to, working on something. So I thought perfect! this will work. We can have a lesson with her and start reaching our goal! So long story short, it turned out there was no attempt to meet with these people and teach them like we planned, so we ended up leaving without entering anyones house or giving any lesson or anything... So we left. and i was in silence... just thinking in my head, "well how are we ever gonna reach this goal if we dont even try..." and basically the fact that we didnt try anything to meet with this lady was stuck in my head. And finally the thought came in my head "if i dont say anything and we dont try to actually reach this goal, its going to be my fault we failed the zone leaders". At this point we were on the other side of longaví to meet someone (who ended up not being home) and elder sutterfield said "lets start contacting these houses". And i said "lets go back to yissela and go meet with that lady. We need lessons with members. We didnt do anything to try and meet with her" and he explained to me how he had tried something of trying to enter the house with them and how now it would be awkward to leave then go back... but I just looked at him and said "that was kind of weak. lets go back. we need lessons with members." so he thought for a second... and said "okay. yeah lets go back." so we went allll the way back. and now the neighbor was in the yard of yissela working on her project, so i thought wow even more perfect! So we approached them and said hey our appointment fell with those people, is yissela here?" so yissela came and i asked if we could share something with her, she said yes. Then i asked "do they want to join us?" and she said "uhh... you can share with me but not them... they do NOT like the missionaries and dont want anything to do with them." so i thought "shoot. dang it. now this will be hard to get them in cuz they dont like us..." and my faith got a little weaker... but so yissela went inside and i approached them anways to ask if they wanted to join us. So i asked hesitantly "hey were going to share a little message just really quick with yissela... do you want to join us?" ..... and the lady said "uh... yeah! yeah no problem! Ill come!" hahaha. So I turned to elder sutterfield with my "well im shocked that was so easy" face. and we went in and taught her and got our lesson with member there! hahaha. but anyway my point of that story is that i am so grateful the lord blessed us in that moment for our faith. He softened the heart of that lady so that she would accept to listen to us and so we could accomplish our goals. And even though we only ended up with 6 lessons with members and didnt make the 8... the point is, in 3 days we had more lessons with members than we had had in the past 3 or 4 weeks! So it just showed us we know we can work with the members and we can work harder. We just gotta do it. haha. and thats my story.

Also on friday, I GOT MY PACKAGE FROM MOM AND DAD!!!! woo hoooo! We had a surprise visit from President and Sister Humphrey who hand delivered the package! wooooo hoooo im so pumped! Except its killing me i cant open those christmas presents until christmas.... haha. But i shall wait. THANK YOU SO MUCH! But so it was awesome and fun to see President and his wife, and good to talk to them. President gave me a big hug from you dad! thank you!!! haha.
Also on friday, we had an activity in the rama. But it wasnt very great because not a ton of people showed up until way late. And all the electricty in Longaví was out for some reason for a few hours or something haha.

Saturday: Sat was fun. We played a bunch of futbol. We played it in the morning at the church to try and fellowship with some less actives and nonmembers haha. But then in the afternoon we had made a deal with a bunch of 10 yr olds we would play with them in this backyard so then their mom would let us in her house to teach her hahaha. Long story. But pictures to follow.

Sunday: I gave my talk! It went well I think. People understood me. I was kind of nervous about it though, not because of the language, but because I was kind of bold with it. Theres been a streak of missionaries here in Longaví somewhat recently that have been somewhat disobedient and a little too friendly with the people... So the image of missionaries was kind of skewed and people had the wrong idea, plus since its a little branch, so many people are new converts and just dont know about the missionaries. So i got up and explained some rules that we have as missionaries and why we have them. And people ALWAYS tell us stories about how "Elders so-and-so, when they were here ALWAYS did this!"... so in my talk i said "it doesnt matter what the missionaries that were here before us did. These are the rules and have been the rules. The missionaries here want to be obedient." and then went on to bear testimony about how i know it will bring us success and change in the area, and shared a scripture about obedience and the blessings of it as well.... haha. I hope it was received well. I think it was. We've already seen changes in the 2 or 3 houses we visited last night haha...

And yeah! that was my week! haha. The elections here are FINALLY over. Mario Briones won. It was funny cuz they voted yesterday, and at like 7 at night people were celebrating going crazy that theyre candidate won, and i said to elder sutt, "they already know who won???" And he said "well yeah... they only have to count like 400 votes. Theres like no one in longavi" hahaha. Kind of funny. Now i hope the town will calm down a little bit and more people will attend church since theyre not doing campaign stuff haha. But idk. Idk what else haha. im loving it here! the work is fun and elder sutt and i are doing well! we're improving alot and were excited for it. Libeny and Michael (her son) are getting baptized this week! woo hoooo! idk if ill do it. maybe. If i did that would be cool though haha. But so yeah. Ill let you know next week! but yeah! i think thats all! Im running out of time and still have to write others haha. So im gonna do that! love you and miss you all! Chauuu!

Nothing Super Grand Oct. 22, 2012

Hola a todos! So this week was pretty uneventful haha... Not alot happened haha. Just a week of working hard! Like really its not even worth doing my day to day thing i usually do haha. So ill just write some points and some things I feel like saying this week!

The weather has been even worse this week haha. its been more cold than warm. And its been raining quite a bit the past couple days! booo. I hate rain haha. Oh well ive got good protection! But everyone keeps saying well be heading into the summer heat faster than I think... well see how it is and how it compares to the AZ heat! ;)

Our branch president here is building a little vacation house on the outskirts of Longaví. He lives in Linares and so has to drive to Longaví all the time for church duties. So they wanted to build a house out in the campo. So weve been doing some service lately helping build that! Im learning alot about construction, actually haha. Alot of random skills and ways to do things, how to make cement, weve worked a ton with cement haha. They dont have big trcks to just pour cement where you want... we make it all and take it wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow and pour it where we need haha. Its helped expand my spanish vocab :P Now i know Martillo y pala y palo y tabla y what "el diablo" is (NOT the devil. A crowbar! haha) but all sorts of stuff! and were shoveling dirt and rocks everywhere, I learned this weird technique of how to find water underground haha. but it works! anyway. Its a good workout too and ive been learning alot! Its fun and something different to do! so its enjoyable. I think Ive failed to take pictures.... sorry :/ But we'll be out there working more so ill take some next time! haha. But So yeah that something weve been doing haha.

We had a good week of work this week! we found some new people to teach and have been teaching some good progressing people. First of all Libeny Ive told you about is AWESOME. She still isnt 100% sure? secure? segura haha about baptism. But its funny cuz she just accepts everything we teach and starts living it right away. The moment we told her she needed to stop drinking tea and cafe, she stopped that night haha. Shes really so awesome and intelligent. And now her son is way involved to and wants to learn more and really wants to be baptized haha. Hes already pretty sure about it. So were excited for them! theyve been to church the past two weeks so thats good too. Theyre awesome. Weve been trying to teach Ramiro and his family too... They keep slowly improving but are really frustrating as well. Were not sure what more we can do :/ ugh. Its really frustrating.

I had an interview with my mission president this week! he came for a short conference just to interview everyone. and so he just talked to me all about mom and dad basically haha. It was good to see him and talk to him. Hes off to a mission president seminar and will be meeting dad this week! So im really excited about that! Especially because hell be bringing back a package from mom and dad for me! woo hoooooo!!!! hahaha. Im excited for that. But so yeah my mission president is super cool and super funny para que sepan. President Humphrey. He has funny little quirks, and my favorite is that at the end of prayers or testimonies or whatever he always like YELLS amen hahaha. its so funny. But no i love him and hes awesome and really is called of God!!

I continue to improve in spanish each week! Elder Klepinger told me the other day that in the 3 weeks hes been here hes really seen alot of improvement in my spanish. Which was good cuz i felt like i was at a standstill kind of! or even worsened... haha. I keep stumbling on words and blah blah blah. But i DO know im improving and stuff. But sometimes i just get frustrated still :P But i can definitely communicate (understand AND speak) ALOT better haha. Its a good feeling!

Okay two more things I want to share! So first thing is yesterday at church we didnt have anyone there to take care of the primary... So I did it! hahaha. It was fun and went fine! I even happened to have cookies in my backpack to handout haha. I just taught about who our heavenly father is and what were doing here on earth. It was fun! haha. Also, yesterday I was assigned my first talk in church.... haha. Next week im speaking about la obra misional por 10 minutos! haha. It will be interesting. ALSO ysterday elder sutterfield and I taught the Young Men/Aaronic Priesthood. Everyone is new (plus theres only 3 of them) so we were basically teaching them about what the priesthood even is and what their duties are. We then tried to introduce Mutual to them.... and long story short, the people here live really sad, boring lives :( We asked them what they like to do with their friends so we could come up with mutual activites.... and all they came up with was futbol, and that they like to "hang out" but then they get bored and they all just go on facebook.... haha. So then we gave them a talk about how great church is and all the resources they hvae and they should do something FUN. haha. But basically my point is just that were all REALLY blessed. Becase seriously the lifestyle here is REALLY sad. Its really poor and all the teenage kids are just... really just a joke. At such a young age they just get into the worst stuff like drugs and alcohol and everything, and when theyre like 16/17 so many of them get pregnant and then the boys just take off and leave buried in their drugs and alcohol so they work terrible jobs, and the girls are left alone to try and raise a kid on their own and on and on.... its just terrible. And is wayyyy too common. Its sad. Were all really blessed. But thats all I want to say about that. haha.

okay and LAST thing is a quick little thought about how its funny to me that I learn the most about everything when were IN lessons. Like I recieve personal revelation the most during our lessons. it seems like it always happens while im just sitting there listening to what Elder Sutterfield is saying, and then Ill hear something and BAM my mind explodes and all of a sudden something clicks and i understand something about the gospel ALOT better. Its a win/lose situation because Im learning a ton, but were speaking in spanish and I get sidetracked and when I get back to paying attention i have no idea whats going on and have trouble figuring out where were at hahaha. But its just awesome and its interesting to see that God works in mysterious ways! Im always always always learning something new. And I love it. I always have to write whatever thought comes to mind down during the lesson so later I can remember it and go look at it better haha.

But so thats all from this week! like i said no major events so i just filled you in a little about life here haha. Iiiiiim loving it! Its so fun. as of yesterday ive officially been here 2 months!! sooooooo crazy... haha. I cant believe how fast time goes. This morning during P-day I just did a bunch of reading and went on a random cleaning spree (yes. that really happened) and  just cleaned everything alot and got super organized. It rocks haha. but now its just back to the house to relax a little until we go out to work later tonight! Im loving life here. i love and miss you all alotttt. Always are in my prayers. Im working hard to make you proud!! I love you all! Have a good week!!!

Con muuucho amor,
Elder Heyman

Oct. 15th-- I Need a New Subject Line because every Week is Just Crazy!

Hola holaaaa. ¿Como estamos? Todo esta bien aqui en Longaví! Incluyendo mi español! estoy tan animado. Yo tuve tanto progreso esta semana!!!

But so anyways. Hi everyone. Yes, once again another crazy week. I guess every week is just crazy during a mission. But I had an awesome week! So Im really happy about it and really excited! haha. Okayyyy here we go.

Monday and Tuesday: Didnt really have anything great to note haha. So here Ill just note that We now bike even farther from Longavi, past Los Cristales because weve worked in Los Cristales so much, and are now working in a place called La Tercera! We even found one pretty good investigator there! and a couple other potentials. Well see later this week! (Disculpe porque no se donde esta la apostrophe aqui en este teclado haha)

Wednesday: We didnt do much work... haha because we had my first mission conference! Except the way it works is theres 2 mission conferences. The "Inside" Conference (areas much closer to concepcion) and the "outside" conference. So im on the outside. It was really good and a lot of fun! I finally met up with Emily Elkins missionary, Elder Larkin during this conference!!! hahah. So that was fun to see someone I knew whos been in the mission for like a year! haha. But yeah the conference was awesome and we learned lots and everything. They talked about using maps of our sectors to be more successful and efficient, and talked about knowing the material/doctrine we teach! So part of that is that we memorize alot of different things from Preach my Gospel. Here in the mission We have this thing where basically, a missionary who completes all of it is a "gold missionary" and there is silver and bronze as well. Ill be bronze as of tomorrow haha. But first we memorize all the section headings of the all 4 lessons from PMG, and the compromisos (commitments). So ive done that. Then after ill memorize a bunch of scriptures that go with each one for silver, and then a gold missionary memorizes all of that, plus a bunch bunch more. Its hard to describe. But, it will be a challenge! But I expect to do it haha. So yeah. Anyway I also wanted to note that at the end of the conference they had all the new missionaries go up and bear their testimony to everyone. Basically a chance just for everyone to judge the newbies level of spanish hahaha. But so yeah mine went really well! I got compliments that my spanish was really good and people were even surprised! so that made me happy :) but yeah. That happened.

Thursday: I had a mini cambio all day!!! So I was actually working in Linares with a Chileno, Elder Navarrete! He talks so fast. hahaha. But Ive been improving and I understand basically everything! For the most part. The point is i could communicate with him fine. haha. So 3 things to note from that experience! First, I like the city alot more than the campo. haha. Idk why. I just do. So im a city boy (Dad. Probably just in the genes)(p.s. So yeah linares is more of a city while longavi and everything is super campo) Second, I had a ridiculously pink bike that I was using to travel everywhere. It was really funny. I failed to get a picture sorry :/ haha but so i got lots of smiles and laughs as I rode by. And how I said previously how the jovenes aqui are alot more disrespectful and yell things at us blah blah blah, i even had a group of kids that threw a few rocks at me..... and hit me. I was about to get real mad (obviously not do anything about it. just pout haha) but it was weird cuz right before I did get mad suddenly the idea/image popped into my head of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us. And all the stuff HE had to go through and all the mocking and abuse and everything. And so I thought "okay. well nevermind. I have no room to get mad." and just wiped it out of my mind fast haha. But wrote it down later so I could remember to share it with you guys hahaha. But so yeah. Just a reminder to all that we have a savior and redeemer in this life. And his sacrifice for us is amazing and incomprehensible, but I really know that Jesus Christ died for us, and suffered EVERYTHING, just so that everybody on the earth (past, present, future) could have the chance to be eternally happy, and could become perfect like him and our Heavenly Father. It really happened. No doubt! So theres my spiritual thought with you guys :) haha
Okay and third to share was crazy! We went to this members house because the wife had asked for a blessing of health for her husband. And these people were ancient haha. But so her husband is bed-ridden. Like forever. I didnt really catch why or what exactly was wrong, but basically that he was really old and weak and sick... but so elder navarette was helping me remember how the anointing works in spanish... when he asked "have you given a blessing in spanish before?" and i told him no, just had done confirmations of the holy ghost! and so he said "okay well youre going to do the blessing!" so i got really nervous again haha. but i was right up for it! And it was an awesome experience. It was definitely really difficult, and i struggled through it, but i know it was guided by the Holy Ghost. The man just stayed laying down in his bed and we placed our hands on his head and did the blessing. It was really cool :)

Friday: not much! I returned back to Longavi from Linares friday morning! and we just went to work haha.

Saturday: So this was a huge day. So first announcement.... Im probably going to go to the temple in Santiago in November!!! Supppper long story, but Saturday Elder Sutterfield and Elder Vargas (the two older companions in our house) went with some of the members of the Rama to the temple in Santiago! And so now we have a date set for a temple trip with the branch in November!! And I will most likely be able to go! but so yeah. Thats all ill say bout that cuz thats all I know haha.
But so anyway... If you didnt catch on, with the two older companions in Longaví leaving, that leaves... One Elder with a month and a half, and one elder with a week and a half in the mission in Longaví to do the work... aka Elder Klepinger and I. So thats exactly what we did! hahaha. It was an adventure. But it was awesome, alot of fun, and we actually had some good success! We were praying reallll hard in the morning before we left so we would be able to understand and talk with the people haha. But it went really well! We even gave the whole first lesson to someone and invited them to baptism in the first lesson! (they said no... hahaha. But i still consider it a success) But honestly that whole day was a huge blessing. My spanish (understanding and ability to talk) were amazing. and I know it was onlyyyy because I had the help of the Lord. We were praying real hard for help because we knew we had an important work to do, but the two of us were nearly completely incapable (hahaha) and so we needed help BAD. and Elder Klepinger and I noticed huge changes with the language that day. It was a huge blessing. Miracles really do happen! haha. Oh and during our lunch with a member family, I was even having full conversation with them, and had them cracking up laughing!!! To be completely honest I dont know why they thought it was SO funny... But it felt so good to be able to do that! and in spanish! haha (and no they werent laughing AT me and my spanish ;) haha)

Sunday: So two things from Sunday haha. Long email today. So first thing is Elder Sutterfield is 2nd counselor in the branch presidency here, and elder vargas is secretary. So after church each sunday we have to hang around for a little longer so they can do tithing stuff and other things... So were sitting there and all of a sudden the Branch President comes up to me and says "Elder Heyman can you interview my son? I have to do this stuff. Can you give him an interview?" (His son is 4...) and so he likes to joke around a lot and so I said Yeah sure! and just laughed cuz i thought it was a joke. then all of a sudden he hands me his keys to his office and says "Here take this and take elder klepinger with you and interview him for something about the primary. thanks so much" so I got really confused and elder Sutt said "Jeremias feels left out so President wants you to interview him" so i was like oh... wow. im really doing this. hahaha. And they told me to make it as real as possible. so it was SOOOO funny. So elder klepinger and i went into the office with Jeremias and "interviewed" him. It was so funny. I asked him funny questions. Like if he obeys his parents, if he loves his siblings, which sibling was his favorite :P hahahaha. And other stuff about why he likes the church and if he wants to be a missionary blah blah blah. It was HILARIOUS. Hes the funniest kid. He was so shy about it. And right at the beginning he told me "ive never had an interview before... this is my first one ever." so then at the end we found some paper and I had him sign it and then I wrote "Jeremias´s first Interview" and I signed it too and told him he passed hahaha. I love kids. It was the best. Kids in spanish are even funnier. Second quick thing is that at night when we were riding around the city for some citas there was a FAT parade that came out of nowhere because the local government elections are this next week. like seroiusly it was HUGE. And it was funny. people here get way excited about the elections. That is all.

Today!: So this morning we had an zone vs zone partido de futbol! it was alot of fun and we played for like an hour and a half. There are some amazing futbolistas here haha. Especially the brasileno in our mission. wow hes good. but hes a flopper haha.

But that was my week! Super crazy! So much haha. But it was an awesome week. I am still absolutely loving it here. Its so much fun. My spanish is really picking up now! im getting excited. I learned alot during the mini cambio, and being the "older guy" on friday was a good opportunity for me to just get over my nerves and go talk to people and stuff. So the spanish really improved alot this week!
The weather is still bi polar. One day hot, one day cold, then raining, then still cold, then randomly hot... I cant figure it out haha. Oh well!
Ill have been in chile for two months this week! weirddd! it goes by so fasttt! wow. haha. But ive loved it all.

I love you and miss you all! I pray for you and am trying hard to make you proud! This church is true and Im real blessed to have it in my life! I love you!
